Rajasthan is famous for its majestic forts, desert, beautiful temples and specifically Udaipur for its Lakes. But one thing it has been specifically famous for is its Rajasthani Thali. To have the most authentic, true to its tradition Rajasthani Thali, we visited Natraj Restaurant situated at the City Station Road near Railway Station.
The Rajasthani includes from Aloo ki Sabzi, Shahi Paneer, Bhindi, Dal, Raita, Kachori, Dhokla, Rice to Gatte ki Sabzi, Achar, Chutneys, Buttermilk, Dhode ki Barfi and Papad Salad. You name it. All is cooked in Desi Ghee and given in generous quantities. All is cooked fresh and is undoubtedly high on calories.
The Ambience/Interiors were old and Clustered, thanks to its footfall and people filled till every corner. This made this place very loud, but how could you complain about the place when you are so mesmerized by the delicious food.
One particularly interesting thing about this place was how the staff interacted within themselves using sign language for each of the dish on the Thali. To see them catering to the refills of each individual’s thali was entertaining.
An actually must visit if you are planning a trip to the City of Lakes.
